Meet the Assistant Principal

Meet Darleen Romenick: Assistant Principal

Welcome to Sugar Creek!!  I am honored to serve as the assistant principal of the school and look forward to working with the students, families and staff during the 2018-2019 school year.  It is a privilege to be part of such a supportive school community and work alongside professionals who value the academic, social and emotional needs of our students.  This is my twelfth year in education, my first year in administration, and my ninth year in the Fort Mill School District. I graduated from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte with a BA in Child and Family Development, with an Early Education license which includes blended Special Education Certification, and also have a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Winthrop University.   I have been married to my wonderful husband Joe for 18 years.  We have two teenage children.  Kyle who is 17 years old and a senior at Fort Mill High School and Samantha who is 14 years old and a freshman at Nation Ford High School.  We relocated from Long Island, New York to Marvin, North Carolina thirteen years ago.  We moved to Fort Mill, SC six years ago and are extremely proud to be part of this amazing community!!!!

I am looking forward to working with the wonderful children and community of SCES.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call.

Meet Aaron Plummer: Administrative Assistant Principal   It is an honor to be at Sugar Creek Elementary this year and serve as the Administrative Assistant Principal.  This will be my 7th year in education and my first in Fort Mill. The first six years of my career were spent working in Charlotte as a physical education teacher at Ballantyne Elementary.  I graduated from Southern Wesleyan University with a B.S. in Physical Education and completed my Master’s in Educational Leadership at Gardner-Webb University. One of the many things that excites me about being at Sugar Creek is the opportunity to build relationships with other staff members, the community, and most importantly our students.

Outside of school I love spending time with my wife and daughter and being the best husband and dad possible.  Staying active, cooking and eating, and watching Clemson football are a few ways I like to spend my free time. I believe in working hard but also taking time to enjoying the many things life has to offer.
